Beauty

Mountains. Forests. Ravines and rivers. The ocean. The night sky or thunderclouds in mid-afternoon, the blue expanse above white peaks. Plants and rocks. Deserts and tropics. Rolling fields or heathered hills or swampy rushes.  I love it all.

Sunny little spots with benches and pigeons. Wooden-floored coffee shops with Scrabble boxes and random books and a few beat up couches. Cottages with vines and gardens and sloped roofs. Window sills with tomatoes lined up, ripening. Modern chairs and primitive bowls and Elizabethan paintings. I love so many things.

Old women with twinkling eyes and little smirks. Children and the way they place their little hands on your leg or neck when they’re talking to you. Dark skin and white freckled skin and brown skin and the pale peach at the nape of a neck. People of all shapes and sizes. I love them so much. I really do.

This is some of what I think is beautiful. This is some of what you’ll find in the things I write.
